Visiting Cilento is “mandatory”, even if it is one of the lesser known areas of Italy, it is full of wonderful beaches, cliffs, hills and thick vegetation. Furthermore, it is in this wild area that the Cilento National Park rises with the archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia and the Certosa di Padula.

he beautiful Greek city of Paestum has majestic temples, visible even in the evening, while the Certosa di Padula is one of the most beautiful charterhouses in Europe. The beautiful coastal road, which is very popular with riders, passes through numerous towns located on the coast, including Acciaroli, Palinuro and Marina di Camerota. In the area you can also admire the karst caves of Castelcivita. Numerous naturalistic beauties, castles and villages perched on the Cilento mountains certainly deserve a visit.

The Charterhouse of Padula
La Certosa di Padula or Padula or Certosa di San Lorenzo, is the largest monastery in Europe and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The charterhouse dates back to 1300 and was founded by Tommaso Sanseverino. Estimated time of visit about 2 hours. ● From our holiday home about 50 km is the distance that can be covered in about 90 minutes.
Pompei
The ancient city of Pompeii was buried in 79 AD. from the eruption of Vesuvius. To date, the excavations of Pompeii are the third most visited state museum site in Italy. The ruins are an incredible sight, they never cease to amaze. It takes about 4 hours to visit the excavations of old Pompeii. ● From our holiday home in Ogliastro Marina to Pompeii there are about 70 km.
Castellabate
Castellabate,made famous by the film "Welcome to the South", with its picturesque "square" will enchant you in the evening, tasting a glass of local Fiano wine and enjoying the beautiful panorama. Do not miss the Castello dell'Abate, the medieval village, the Sanctuary of Santa Maria a mare, Punta Licosa and the "La Grotta" beach. ● It’s 12 minutes far from our holiday home in Ogliastro Marina.
